How High-Quality Content Drives Traffic and Leads

February 28, 2022

We’ve said it once and we’ll say it again– you can’t succeed online if you don’t have high-quality content. That applies to a personal website or your business website, especially in 2022. That doesn’t mean you need to write blogs that are thousands of words long or post a cringe-worthy meme on your company page to stay “relevant”. The key to high-quality content is the quality of your material, not the quantity or even the length. High quality content for your website will help you get the traffic you’ve been looking for.

Create a Content Strategy for Your Personal or Business Website

Before you start churning out content like crazy, think about your audience and how you’ll help solve their problems. What do they need? Where can you find them? Who is reading your competitors’ blogs? How do their strategies compare to yours? Do some research before diving in—read what your competitors are posting on social media, check out their web traffic with a tool like Google Analytics, or even just ask a few friends if they happen to read that site.

Your aim here isn’t to copy anyone; it’s to get an idea of where your efforts will be best focused. Once you know who your target market is and how to reach them, create a schedule. How often should you post new content? What topics should each piece cover? Keep track of these details in one place so there aren’t any holes in your content marketing plan as you move forward. And once all those pieces are settled: Get writing!

Improve Your Landing Page Experience on Your Website in 2022

If you want your content to drive traffic (and leads), then it’s important that you optimize landing pages for conversions. Optimizing landing pages, the right way, with the right digital marketing team, can have positive effects.

If people visit your page, but don’t find what they were looking for, or are confused by what you offer, then you’re going to have a hard time converting them into subscribers or customers. Improve your landing page experience with these tips.

Landing Page Optimization: Landing page optimization is an ongoing process of testing different messaging, offers, and CTAs until you figure out exactly what will entice your target audience to convert. It’s a long-term strategy—not a short-term fix—but it pays off in terms of both traffic and leads. If you have multiple products or services that can be promoted through one landing page, it’s critical that visitors understand immediately how they should interact with the page; otherwise, they’ll bounce without converting.

Use Social Media Properly

Social media is huge, but it’s not a good idea to blindly share everything you post on your Facebook page or Instagram feed. It’s important to generate high-quality content that’s timely, interesting, and relevant. Social media users tend to gravitate toward content with which they can identify.

If you don’t know where your target market hangs out online—or where they want/need information—it can be difficult for them to find you. Instead of posting indiscriminately across social media channels, think about what types of posts will resonate with your audience. Know what topics they’re interested in and speak directly to their concerns as often as possible by creating informational (not promotional) posts specifically geared toward your audience’s needs.

Not only does thinking about your followers help make better use of your time, it also creates content people are actually interested in sharing themselves. No one wants to see just another promo from someone they barely know; creating quality content tailored to specific audiences helps foster relationships between brands and customers that can lead to increased traffic and leads down the road.

Use Video Content Wisely

It’s no secret that video is a powerful tool for driving engagement and building your brand. In fact, a Cisco study found that consumers who viewed videos online were more likely to purchase products than those who did not. The key with video is quality: You don’t want it looking unprofessional. It should follow your site’s general style guide as well as be on-topic with your other content so readers have an idea of what to expect when they view a video from you.

The better your videos are, the more views and shares they’ll garner. That kind of visibility can translate into real traffic—and eventually into leads and sales for your business. So use video wisely. And make sure you take full advantage of its ability to spark engagement by adding links and CTAs in your videos to drive visitors back to your website or landing pages.

Improve Website Performance

A key benefit of creating a high-quality content strategy is that it helps improve website performance (i.e., how fast your site loads). After all, visitors are unlikely to stick around if they’re forced to wait too long for pages or images to load. And while there are many ways you can test and optimize your page speed, creating high-quality content is a great place to start.

Low-quality content usually means low expectations from readers, which often translates into lower performance. So what does high quality mean? You don’t need to go overboard with words or formatting—just make sure everything on your site provides real value for users.  Short paragraphs, detailed explanations and helpful tips or resources are all things that will help improve page speed. If you have images on your site, look into compressing them and making sure they aren’t unnecessarily large files.

While these tweaks may not deliver an immediate boost in performance, they will help set up your site for success as new content is created over time. Make it easier for yourself by starting off right! Once you do so, traffic should increase as your user experience improves over time.

Blog Content is More Than Just Words

Effective writing is one of your best assets when creating a blog post. But, focusing solely on writing isn’t enough; you need to focus on creating great content. It doesn’t matter how well-written your content is if it doesn’t provide any value. To create high-quality content, use these steps:

  • Understand what your audience wants to read: To find out what type of content your audience wants to read, ask them questions using polls or surveys.
  • Research popular topics in your industry: Find articles that rank well in Google and study their structure. Look at their headings, subheadings, bullet points, images and videos. If there are formulas to follow for success—use them! If it gets results- it’s a formula worth recreating.
  • Use rich media: Include visual aids like graphs, charts, infographics or videos to help make your point easier to understand. These not only allow you to make a deeper connection with your audience but also serve as search engine optimization tools allowing you more opportunities for exposure from search engines like Google.

So there you have it. A guide to creating high-quality content that will set your online presence ablaze. But like they always say, it’s easier said than done. Here at Social Spice Media, we have the tools you need to get it done right. From social media to web development to blog writing, we’ve got you covered.
