The Power of Social Media Proves Successful at First-Ever Old Town Camarillo ‘Wine Walk’

DSC_0139 If success is measured in numbers, then the first annual Old Town Camarillo ‘Wine Walk’ held in early October proved to be a successful first time event. Utilizing the power of social media to help build excitement and bring in the crowds, Social Spice Media built a following of 4,000 fans to the event’s Facebook page and helped to generate over 800 ticket sales. Besides local visitors, the event also drew out-of-towners from as far away as Colorado, San Diego, Inglewood, Paso Robles, in addition to the East Coast! “We were amazed at the turnout and attribute much of the success to our social media campaign,” stated Jonathan Boring, Event Director and Owner of Social Spice Media. “It really proved that social media efforts can have a major impact when trying to spread the word,” he added. Wine Walk included over 25 stops at wineries and breweries scattered throughout historic Old Town. Visitors had an opportunity to sample select wines, beers and specialty & nonalcoholic drinks.
