5 Types Of Facebook Content Your Followers Love And Want To Share

Looking to engage your Facebook followers?

Although it can take time to get your followers involved, if you regularly share out new content, you’ll begin to see more engagement.

However, what types of content should you share? Are some content types more effective than others?

The short answer is “yes”, although it really depends on your goals, your audience, as well as the resources, tools and connections available to you.

In general, however, there are a few content types anyone can use to stimulate more engagement on Facebook. Here are five examples.

1. Blog Posts

Content and social media strategy go hand-in-hand. Having great content to share makes your social strategy all the more effective, as blog posts, videos, infographics and other media types demonstrate your expertise and build your credibility.

This doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to be publishing new content all the time. These days, it’s almost better to focus on quality over quantity. If you’re willing to get creative, you can share out the same post multiple times. You can change the headline, ask questions, or even add new comments every time you share it out; it’s not going to be seen by everyone the first time you share it anyway.

From Millennials to Baby Boomers, blog articles tend to be some of the most consumed and engaged type of content (Red Website Design Blog). If you want to grow your social presence, you should definitely have a plan around creating great content.

2. Case Studies

Case studies are powerful tools for any business. Showing people the kinds of results you’re able to get your clients is proof that you know what you’re doing and that you’re worth hiring. And it just so happens that case studies are great for sharing on Facebook as well.

Case studies also allude to what might be possible for the reader. The reader may want to achieve the kind of results you’re talking about, which gets them excited and wanting to share your post.

3. Questions

Questions facilitate a lot of discussion. The best part is that they don’t take a lot of work to post. Knowing your audience can go a long way towards knowing the kinds of questions to ask, but even general questions (like “what is your favorite TV show right now?”) can foster a lot of engagement.

If you have competitors, partners or affiliates following you, they are fairly likely to share your questions with their audience, because it might be something they want to start a discussion around (on their page) as well.

4. Images

Social media is very visually-oriented, and having stimulating images and pictures to share with your followers is more or less a no-brainer. The key thing to remember is to create attractive, eye-catching graphics that people can’t help but share.

This is also a good reason to create great-looking graphics for your blog posts. That way, when you share them out, the first thing people will be seeing is the image, and that will make your headlines all the more clickable.

Another type of image that works well is inspirational quotes. Whether you take quotes directly from your blog posts or from famous people is up to you. You may want to try a variety of different things to see what works best. However, there is little doubt that people love quotes!

5. eBooks

eBooks are known to grab people’s attention on Facebook. It might be because they have gotten some value out of the books they’ve read in the past, or maybe they just love free stuff (if your eBook happens to be free).

eBooks can also lend a lot of credibility to your brand. They take time to write and put together, and when you answer questions or offer relevant solutions for your followers, you will be seen as an expert in your field. This will build your authority and credibility in your industry.

Final Thoughts

Don’t over-think your Facebook strategy. All things considered, the internet is a relatively forgiving place, which means there are plenty of opportunities to experiment, tweak, and figure out what works best.

Of course, once you post something, it’s hard to take it back. Just be aware of this as you begin to up your posting frequency on social media.

Jonathan Boring is a digital marketing expert with more than two decades of proven success in corporate branding, sales and communications. Jonathan founded Social Spice Media in 2012, with the vision of helping corporations bridge the interconnected and digital communications through a strategic use of technology combined with creative marketing solutions. His goal is to develop, improve, and maintain powerful social media integration programs in order to increase awareness, brand loyalty, website traffic, and sales. Jonathan has spent the past 15 years immersed in digital marketing with an emphasis in social media. He has been a speaker on the topic at several social media conferences, user groups, and industry groups.

Prior to founding Social Spice Media, Jonathan served as Director of Sales and Marketing at The California Wine Club (CWC). His role included all aspects of social media engagement and marketing, as well as business development. Under Jonathan’s direction, CWC sponsored the 2010 and 2011 Taste of Camarillo, Bryan Brother’s Foundation Tennis Fest, Camarillo Art Council, and World Council Affairs Dinner.
